Sanjit Krishnamurthy: Achievements & Impact
Student innovator, researcher, and co-founder of DineAbiliti.
Sanjit is a junior at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona, and the technical co-founder of DineAbiliti. This page provides a curated overview of his key achievements in accessibility, research, engineering, and personal development, with downloadable documentation for universities and partner organizations.
Social Impact & Entrepreneurship
Co-founder & CEO, DineAbiliti
DineAbiliti is an AI-powered, free web platform that helps disabled diners find firsthand, disability-specific information about where to eat. Sanjit co-founded the company, built the AI model and web-scraping pipeline that aggregates accessibility insights for over 10,000 restaurants across Arizona and the Bay Area, and helped raise over $150K in funding. He is being mentored by a Managing Director at Arizona’s leading VC firm. He led partnerships with major Arizona nonprofits, coordinated outreach at Abilities Expo, and gained substantial leadership, technical, and business experience.

Provisional Utility Patent – Automated Floating Pool Cleaner (US 63/885,706)
Sanjit designed a solar-powered floating rover that removes debris from pool surfaces and filed a provisional utility patent to protect the invention. He built a working prototype with an integrated net and skimmer, taught himself AI and object detection, and developed a land-based test rover capable of recognizing and approaching specified targets. This project combined self-directed learning in engineering, coding, and environmental problem-solving.
Summer Intern, University of Missouri, School of Medicine, Cancer Nanomedicine Lab
At the University of Missouri’s College of Medicine, Sanjit interned in a cancer research lab focused on nanoparticle-based therapeutics. Under Dr. Kattesh Katti’s guidance, he synthesized gold and silver nanoparticles from botanical extracts, characterized them using techniques such as dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy, and evaluated their potential in targeted cancer treatment. Sanjit worked closely with Fulbright Scholars and post-doctoral fellows at the lab and gained hands-on experience in experimental design, lab technique, data analysis, and the real-world application of nanotechnology to oncology.
Course-Based Research, Brown University – Nanotechnology
In Brown University’s Course-Based Research Experience, under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Webster, Sanjit designed and conducted an independent nanotechnology research project focused on applications for spinal cord injury. He engineered silver-nanoparticle conductive gels and evaluated their potential to facilitate neurotransmitter signal transmission around damaged neurons. Through this work, he developed advanced skills in experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory-based problem solving.

Data Science Essentials Certification – The Data Incubator
The Data Incubator’s Data Science Essentials program is typically designed for master’s and PhD students and graduates; Sanjit completed the 12-week program as the only high school participant and earned a Data Science certification. He built predictive and machine learning models using real-world datasets, wrote object-oriented Python code, and used tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and data visualization libraries to extract, clean, analyze, and present data. This experience laid the technical foundation he now applies to building DineAbiliti’s AI systems.

Sanjit attended a professional-level SPEAR Education workshop typically reserved for dentists and dental professionals, becoming the only high school student to earn Treatment Planning continuing education credits. He learned full-mouth, FGTP-based planning, diagnostic photography, airway considerations, patient filtering, case analysis, and treatment sequencing. He earned this certification to provide the foundation for a project that he is currently working on to design and build AI tools that can support complex treatment planning.

Through Johns Hopkins CTY’s “Intro to Python” course, Sanjit learned the fundamentals of programming, including variables, control flow, functions, and data structures. He built multiple small applications and projects that strengthened his logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. The course culminated in a formal certification that reinforced his interest in using code to build accessible technology.

Outstanding Musical Achievement Award – Instrumental Music
The Outstanding Musical Achievement Award is given by Juilliard-trained concert pianist Peter Vamos to one student selected from his numerous current and former students. The award recognizes exceptional musical ability, original composition, technical and artistic maturity, and long-term dedication to piano. Sanjit’s recognition reflects years of disciplined practice and performance, including original compositions and advanced repertoire.
Sanjit has composed 14+ songs on the piano, many of these are now available on Spotify. One of his original pieces was selected and performed at the U.S. 250th Anniversary celebrations before national dignitaries and invited guests including the First Family of the President of the United States.

Sanjit earned his first-degree black belt at age six, becoming the youngest black belt in his Connecticut dojo, and later continued training at World Tae Kwon Do Center in Scottsdale under Master Kim, achieving his second-degree black belt. As a young black belt, he joined his older brother, a third-degree black belt, to teach self-defense to schoolchildren in villages in India, helping them build confidence and resilience. These experiences shaped his discipline, leadership, and commitment to service
